是海河五大支流汇合处和入海口，古有“九河下梢”、“河海要冲”之称。喧闹的“和平路”， 古老的“天津卫”，是今日天津最好的诠释。有“万国建筑博览会”美誉的“五大道”，以及伴随水路漕运产生的“天后宫”，更使得今日天津带有着厚重的历史色彩；而“海河外滩”，“津滨轻轨”等等一些新近开发的都市景观，又使得古老的天津充满着活力和动感。
as the convergence of five branches of haihe river and their exit to the sea, tianjin (tientsin) is reputed as the “the lower edge of nine rivers” and “the center of haihe river” from ancient. the busy “heping road”, the ancient “tianjin wei”, are the best representatives of today’s tianjin. the great five avenues reputed as "world architecture exposition", the queen of heaven palace from ancient watery transportation, these brought tianjin a profound historical atmosphere. however, some new explored urban scenic sites such as bund of haihe river and jinbin light rail made this ancient city full of vigor.
