杭州胜景

hangzhou, the capital of zhejiang province, is lying in the east of china and known as one of the most noted scenic-tourist cities in the country. the saying “in heaven there is paradise, on earth there is hangzhou and suzhou” has expressed people’s admiration for the city from ancient times. in the yuan dynasty, hangzhou was praised by marco polo, a celebrated italian traveler, as “the most beautiful and magnificent city in the world”. besides the famous west lake and lingyin scenic area, in hangzhou there are other places of interest such as qinghefang ancient street, the residence of hu xueyan and xiling seal-engravers’ society, showing the city’s unique beauty, leisure and elegance.
