aswan, an important city in the south of egypt, lies on the east bank of the nile, around 900 kilometers from cairo. historically, it was an ancient frontier town. but now it was the country’s major town to africa controlling the trade routes from the south to the north and the important gate heading for sudan.
being truly considered the jewel of the nile, aswan is egypt’s sunniest southern winter resorts. the nile here, is at its most beautiful, flowing through amber desert and granite rocks, lush islands covered in palm groves and tropical plants. the city proudly boasts the ancient egyptian relics and modern civilization including world-top aswan dam.
